April 2009 saw a return to West London and to 'Frankie's
Bar & Grill' for the seventh annual St George's Day Lunch. 120 gentlemen arrived in time for drinks in the sunshine
before moving inside for another excellent meal, hosted by SGDL founder Mike Moran.
After lunch Mike presented
the 'George of the Year' award to Chris Coughlan of Preview Design, in recognition of his consistent support for the
events over the years. Following that the 2009 entertainment was provided by professional comic Adger Brown, who mixed his
comedy with outrageous put-downs of anyone brave - or drunk - enough to interrupt his flow.
While the lunch maintained
many of the popular features from previous years, 2009 saw a new and very popular addition in the form of Mr Ray Lowe, who
offered his 'Rat Pack' tribute to the great crooners. Those that stayed after the formal lunch ended enjoyed his set
in the front bar lounge and a wonderful sing-a-long as late afternoon ran into the evening.
Once again we were
proud to support a deserving charity and for 2009 we made a donation to 'Help for Heroes'. Please click the link to
