In
April 2012 we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the annual St George's Day Lunch and the event will take place on
Friday 20th April. The venue will once again be The Wharf on the river at Teddington and we are pleased to also welcome back
comedian Ian Irving from the 2009 lunch as our MC for the afternoon.
It is our great pleasure to announce that
our Guest of Honour and speaker for this special anniversary lunch will be Mr Brian Blessed, actor and Great
British Institution! Brian's company and contribution are eagerly anticipated and initial reaction to his attendance has
been splendid. Host Mike Moran was thrilled at the thought that he could save £50 this year as there would be no need
to hire a microphone!
In addition to The Wharf’s usual excellent dining experience we will enjoy the now-traditional
sing-song after the speeches, the award of George of The Year and following last year's contributions from regular guests
about what it means to be English, some further thoughts on our great country. As we already anticipate significant interest in the 2012 event so tickets will be made
available to the first 120 guests to commit. The tickets will go on sale early in the New Year but if you do wish to commit
now, please contact Mike Moran.
